Next we started working on a quick mini lesson on detail for our stories. Mrs. Kelln took this picture of the super moon last night. When asked how we could describe a moon, students started with the words "big", "white", "round", etc. But after looking closer at it student started to use words like "rough, bumpy, craters, reflecting, grey, shades of black, sparkly". It's amazing how far they can come when they push themselves to find the details. |
Mrs. Elliot was in again for Second Step! We discussed compassion and how we can show it towards people who are having a difficult time. We also discussed managing our feelings so that even if we are having a difficult day, we don't let it affect others around us just because we're upset. Students were assigned homework from Mrs. Elliot. Their duotangs are going home and they need to complete assignments up to and including lesson 9. Please have back by Friday! |
