It feels like we never even left. The kids have rolled into January working hard and ready to go. So let's follow their lead get to it. Here's what we did this week!
- Lots of review and our usual daily math
- Many kids cashed in their coupons to sit with friends, lead the lines, run errands, or even read a book to us (want to say Pekingese, Kaydence?)
- Chapters 11, 12, and 13 in Big George.
- Applied to become Night Zoo Keepers. Created animal characters for the zoo, emphasizing detail.
- Found our place in the world, did some Peru research and our first report!
- Learned stress strategies with Mrs. Elliot.
- Checked out how our ear works and how we hear sound because of it.
- Practiced some American sign language.
- Began measuring in cm, starting to look at telling time, and rounding to estimate.
- Began an Art project around a growth mindset.
- Some fun and games in the gym
Quick side note: Before the holidays, when we switched to one blog post for the week, the class decided that we should substitute dojo points for something other than blog posts as some were not able to get on it. Today, they decided that we would do random agenda checks for parent signatures instead! So be sure to check out your child's agenda each night and sign away. You never know when Mrs. Kelln will award agenda dojo points!
Have a great weekend everyone!
