Mathematics
- Fraction M&Ms. Students were given m&ms and had to write down the fractions of each color. We then compared the fractions and determined the most and least common. We also noticed that when we add ALL the fractions, we get the same total as the number of m&ms all together. Neat!
- Daily math as always!
Science (Sound Unit)
- After learning about what sound is (vibrations) and how it moves (in waves), students learned about figuring out the volume and pitch. Volume is the "size of waves" or how high they go. Whereas pitch is determined by the frequency of the waves or "how close together or far apart they are". 3PK joined us for a review and then we used our sound waves to make the balls on the screen bounce and rattle in different ways.
- Then we experiemented with a cup and string phone. First seeing an example and then making our own with a partner.
