Just a short recap of our year together. I am truly blessed to have had such a wonderful group of kids this year. Best of luck to all and enjoy a safe and fun summer!

We knew they had skills and today they showed off their particular talents! Way to go everyone! Our performers were:
The grade threes enjoyed a jump start on summer today. After stuffing their portfolios, it was off to the park for the day. Students played in splash park, lounged in the sun, enjoyed the playground or just chilled with a book. After a tasty lunch, we were off to the pool. Want to see what excitement looks like? Just take a look at any of their faces while they splash in the pool! Unfortunately, our swim time was cut just a bit short, but we decided to take a walk to the neighborhood 7-11 who were kind enough to donate a slurpee to EVERY student in our class to help make up for the shortened swim. So if you get a chance this summer, be sure to stop in for a cool treat and say another thank you!
A special thank you to Mrs. Winter, Mrs. Hurley, and Mrs. Chase for helping us make today fantastic! Also a shout out to the grade 5 students who organized and ran the stations for us all. The kids had a wonderful time at the Annual Division One Sports Day. And were even treated to a yummy BBQ lunch by Vermillion Energy. If you're out and about and see a Vermillion worker, please pass along a huge thanks as they have repeatedly stepped in to help our school this year!
The students had a most excellent time at the Telus World of Science today! It was such a fun day! Not only did everyone have an absolute blast, but they were learning too! Below you'll see some of the things we got up to including learning about and how to build a roller coaster, visiting the exhibits and gift store, and seeing the IMAX. Of course, there was the fun on the bus too! A huge thank you to Mr. Gilgan, Mrs. Winter, Mrs. Robb, and Mrs. Rice for volunteering their time and energy to come with us. The kids enjoyed having a chance to explore everything in smaller groups! Thank you!
Students would not have believed in September that in 10 short months they would be able to do this... Aren't they amazing?
We extended our Animal Research project by creating a painting of our animal in it's natural habitat. Tomorrow, the kids will begin presenting their expert knowledge on their animals to the class and use their artwork as a visual. We were also treated to a special dance presentation featuring our own Brooke and Hanna! Great work, girls! See below for clips from their performance! We had a great time on our class picnic today! The weather cooperated and everyone had fun relaxing and playing in the sun.
The grade 3s had an opportunity to have the new park all to themselves today in the awesome sunshine! Thank you to everyone who helped make our new "spinney" park possible!
We had a special presentation from two University of Alberta students through the program, DiscoverE. They taught us about choosing the right materials, building, and testing our structures to ensure they work and are safe. Students built bridges to demonstrate their knowledge! Great job! |
