Daily language review was followed up with the final story in our Robert Munsch study: "PIGS". Many kids thought it was funny when the pigs took over the principal's office. Everyday we continue to review our basic math skills (See below for the questions and answers). Students are given the questions on the board, complete them, and then we take them up as a class with mini lessons as needed on each of the concepts. Today's mini lesson was on how to represent a number in the hundreds with base ten blocks.
Our gym outside was spent learning how to play "Eagle Eye". One or two eagles are perched at the top of equipment as the others attempt to sneak up on them. If they are seen moving by the eagles, they are sent back. But if they tag the eagle without being seen they become the eagle! This games requires strategies on both sides with most figuring out it takes cooperation to achieve the goal- even if they aren't the ones who win. We finished up with some pirates and multiple ducks taking over our group games.
Later this afternoon we had our DEAR time, music, and some health. We finished off with a game of "Silent Ball" where students attempt to hot potato a squishy around the room without any noise. This game seems to be a favorite with this class. Pardon some of the blurry pictures as the students move quite fast during this game!
