A busy day of throwing around ideas and throwing around some gym equipment! We continue to work on our throwing and catching skills in gym. Today we enjoyed showing off our ability with the game of Catchball. If students were tagged with a dodgeball, they went into the other team's jail. If they caught a ball and were able to hit someone from the opposing team, they alone got to back to their side. However, if they were able to catch it in the giant net, their entire team got to do a jail break. A little twist on a popular game to enhance our throwing and catching abilities. We finished reading our novel Because of Mr. Terupt and will be having another hangout tomorrow with the students from Londonderry Junior High. We also worked hard learning about the land in Ukraine. Many student's learned a new word today: reservoir. And of course, don't forget we flex our math brains daily!
A special note went home today as well. It is as follows:
Dear Parents/Guardians!
Spring has sprung and we are about to begin some special surprises for our Mother’s Day and Father’s Day crafts. We have some neat projects lined up but we need to ask each student to bring in $5 to help cover the costs of materials to complete them. We appreciate your help with this and your child will be excited to present their gift to their loved ones on your special day! Please send $5 with your child by next Wednesday (May 6). Thank you!
We can't wait to get started! Happy Spring everyone!
