Here we are at the end of our first FULL week of school for 2014-2015. Whew! Things have been busy, most of us are tired, but everyone worked great together! Today we did our daily math and language reviews and worked on our super heros. We all identified our super hero strengths that we brought to the classroom on the first day of school and now we are showing off those super powers and making goals for other areas of improvement over this year.
Sometimes students need a little more one-on-one or extra time learning a concept. We are super lucky to have Mrs. Payne in our room all day, everyday to help each of us out wherever it is needed. This might be with manipulatives in math, words in spelling, reading instructions to us, helping us write our stories, or just an extra ear sometimes. Mrs. Kelln and Mrs. Payne work together to ensure each student has an equal opportunity to learn and understand the grade 3 material and we appreciate the help you do at home reinforcing those same concepts! Thank you!
We had a couple of indoor recesses today which were spent building shapes and towers, playing games like chess, and visiting. We need some good solid activity time and we were able to get together with the other grade 3s for a game of "Crazy Kickball". It may look like chaos, but the kids were doing great following a few simple instructions. Ask your child how to play!
The day is going to finish off with a little bit of science and then we get some computer times to explore Oxford Owl again since a few of us didn't have enough time last day.
Have a great weekend everyone!
