Students showed great respect and honor at our Remembrance Day Ceremony this morning. After helping each other put our poppies over our hearts, students made their way to the gym for the service. Below you will see some small clips of our annual tribute to those who have served our country and those who continue to serve. We will remember.
After our ceremony, students returned to the class to complete a non-fiction reading comprehension activity about camels and their humps!
Did you know that it is a myth that camels store water in their humps? It is really a storage of fatty tissue to help the camel go up to 2 weeks without food. I'm sure this comes in very handy in the desert!
Did you know that the camel can drink up to 100 L of water at one time? Pretty cool!
Did you know that camels can close their nostrils? Check out our pictures below of students who wanted to try the same thing!
After burning off some energy at recess, it was back to the gym for an Earth Rangers presentation. They brought some very interesting animals including an armadillo, a very large lizard, and some birds too! Check out their website HERE for more information. And see the video below to see one of the visitors soaring over our heads!
Once the presentation was over, we returned to class and completed our spelling test. We have some great spellers in our room! After another lunch and recess we had DEAR and music, and then it was time to head home for our 4 day weekend. Please remember to take time on Tuesday to pause and reflect.
Have a wonderful weekend.
