We had a special guest in today for Mrs. Payne. Mrs. Bills joined us today and will be back tomorrow to help continue the awesome support Mrs. Payne normally gives us. Our students were super awesome in welcoming her and showing her our routines!
Today was level book library day so we completed our reviews of one of our previous books and then off to the library to exchange them for more. In an effort to encourage our students to open themselves up to new books we have put in a challenge for next week. Next time, students are challenged to find books that are NOT in the Geronimo Stilten, Captain Underpants, or Magic Tree House series. Who knows? They might just find another series they enjoy after this!
Math was busy learning the new concepts of standard, expanded, and word forms for numbers as well as doing our daily review and greater than / less thans (into the 1000s!). 3K is such super stars that when asked to find 4 ways to write the number 249 (other than standard), they found 8! Amazing!
After working so hard, they needed a bit of a brain break and we had fun playing pirates in the game "Captain's Coming". In one photo you can see them all trying to escape the sharks in the water! Such fun!
Off to gym and lunch and then back to our DEAR time. We wrapped the day up with a mapping lesson finding things out about our country of study, Peru. The kids were excited when they discovered they knew things found on the map already such as the Amazon Rain forest!
Another awesome day! Thanks 3K!
