Sadly, I am still waiting on a connection cord to transfer my pictures over for all to see. In the meantime, the learning continues!
What We Did This Week
What We Did This Week
- Read chapters 1-4 of the boxcar children.
- Learned about being responsible and kind and shared little notes with classmates recognizing the ways each of them are kind and responsible.
- Continued to work on 2 and 3 digit addition. Had lots of fun completing "Math Searches" (Like a word search but looking for math equations in the numbers).
- Grew in our understanding about sound. We now know sound is energy. It is made from vibrations and travels in waves. We know that frequency is how close or far the waves are spaced. We know pitch is the high or low sounds we hear and that a high pitch has a high frequency with the waves close together, while a low pitch is a low frequency with the waves spread far apart. We also learned about the major structures of the ear including the outer ear (pinna), ear canal, ear drum, the hammer, anvil, and stirrup, the cochlea, and the auditory nerve.
- Looked at the different regions of Tunisia and how the landscape affects what people do and eat in that area. We also saw some examples of their food, clothing, and dominant religion in the country.
