The grade 3s had a surprise today when they received penpal letters from a school in Edmonton. Every year I pair with another teacher in Londonderry Junior High School to send letters back and forth. It serves many purposes; her grade 7 students have to learn to write friendly letters so we make a good audience. The grade 3s have to become better writers and it's nice to practice our writing in a way other always writing a story. Thirdly, it neat to connect with other people and send and receive answers to questions. Finally, it is just a lot of fun to get mail, right?
