We also participated in the "River of Pink" in support of Anti-Bullying week. Way to go 3K in showing your awesomeness.
In class today we learned about using and protecting our ears so we can hear well throughout our life. We tried out several frequencies and found out which frequencies adults can't hear that kids can. We learned we can't hear anything below 10 decibels and we should not expose ourselves to levels over 80 decibels for long periods of time without proper ear protection. Hear you can see us taking an online frequency hearing test where students hands were raised if they could hear the frequency and drop their hands if they couldn't. We also participated in the "River of Pink" in support of Anti-Bullying week. Way to go 3K in showing your awesomeness. Sadly, we needed to bring in the vice-principal as our class has been struggling with making good choices during our eating times. We have had nearly 1/2 the class up and running, chasing, throwing food, pushing, etc. during our lunch times over the last 5 weeks. We have tried lots of things at the classroom level to work it out but it has escalated to the point that we needed to bring in administration. While we have many students who follow the expectations, we are beginning to see too many who don't. Please have your child share with you what has been happening and what was discussed with Mrs. Hodges-Payne today.

That is so horrible to hear that a lot of the Grade 3's were behaving so badly that the Vice-Principal had to be brought in. That's not fair for the rest of the Kids who are behaving, and it most certainly isn't fair to Mrs. Kelln or Mrs. Payne to have to put up with that. Come on Grade 3's......let's get it together and have a good rest of the year!!

We have a really good bunch of kids, but like everyone else they do need to be reminded of boundaries. Unfortunately the behavior continued for the rest of the week but we are hoping they have sorted it out now. It's not every kid in our room, although more than 1/2 of the students felt they were not behaving as expected so it does create a difficult atmosphere for all of us in the room. Again, I'm hoping its a little bit of spring fever and we bounce right back to the awesome kids I know they all can be!
