Mrs. Payne is away at a conference yesterday and today along with several others. We had the pleasure of having Mrs. Howes in our room yesterday and today we just had us. It was so busy, Mrs. Kelln forgot to take lots of pictures. But don't worry, we were doing stuff! Since we've been so heavy in the LA and Math lately, we took time to focus on Science and Social today. It was a very neat change up!
What We Did Today
What We Did Today
- Read the Foreword/Chapter 1 of Big George
- Had a visit with Mrs. HP while we completed our questions
- Brain Break
- Learned about the rock cycle (click on THIS LINK to see the video!)
- Learned how volcanoes help to create and re-create different rocks.
- DEAR
- Learned all about the tropical rainforest in Peru. Did you know the anaconda can grow to be about 10m. That's as wide as our classroom!! We all agree it is not a snake we'd like to run into in the rain forest.
- Brain Break again!
QUESTION
We continue to connect with people around the globe via Skype. We would love to talk with people (near or far) who have visited one of the four countries we study this year. Have you, or anyone you know, visited Peru, Tunisa, Ukraine, or India and would be willing to share your/their experience with us? If so, please speak to Mrs. Kelln! It helps us to make the world a little smaller for our students!
